Below is some useful information and answers to some frequently asked questions from our bride and grooms to be. Style of Music Krista can perform music that suits all ages getting everyone on the dance floor, playing anything from Rock n' Roll, disco, pop, R&B, jazz, swing and more! One of the many great things about a band at your wedding is the option of having live music while the bridal party enters the reception hall. This is done to the musical style or song of your choice! We also perform easy listening music and jazz during cocktails and dinner if requested. Should you not require live music during dinner, we can provide music to play through our sound system. We also play music while the band is on break to keep the party in full swing!  For cocktail receptions, small venues or weddings in your home, Krista's piano duo Legato is a perfect choice! Legato also plays music for dancing and can also perform at your church ceremony.  Legato's Pianist Cheryl Dickson-Neal is very experienced with performing the music of religious faith and can guide you in this area and make great suggestions! Number Of Musicians This depends on the type of music you are looking for. The band size for a dance reception usually consists of a four to five piece ensemble backing Krista. This includes guitar, bass, drums, piano and saxophone. A saxophone player is not mandatory but is a nice touch.  We also can provide you with a 3-piece horn section to add if you like. Music for cocktails and dinner can be anywhere from a solo pianist to a trio or quartet. Once Krista knows exactly what music you are looking for she will offer ensemble choices to suit your requirements. Special Songs The band will learn up to three songs for your special dances with proper notice. Please keep in mind that this may require us receiving the songs from you, band distribution, rehearsal and preparation of sheet music. All song requests must be submitted two months prior to your wedding date to ensure their performance. Emcee Krista is happy to announce the newlyweds, parents, bridal party and any other events or announcements required. Pricing This will vary depending on the act, instrumentation, time of year, location of venue, and any additional requests you may have. You will find that our fees are within the standard, reasonable rates for this level of musicianship. We pride ourselves on giving clients top quality entertainment. The Musicians All musicians performing with Krista are Toronto's top players and are experienced performing at various types of weddings. Some of the musicians Krista hires are often the same musicians you might hear working at Mirvish Theatres, Canadian Idol Stage West or backing major recording artists in Canada and the USA. Booking Procedure, Deposits & Contracts Once a client has decided to book with Krista Blondin Music, a basic contract must be signed within seven days to hold your date. A deposit will also be required (normally 40-50% of the total fee.
